American Indian Tom Varando visited Southdowns recently.  Along with his ‘real’  tepee, he brought lots of Indian artifacts for our children to see and use.   Children learned how simple tools could be made from items found in the woods and how games were played using items found in nature, such as sticks, cones, and string.  Chief Tom shared his heritage with our students as they sat in his tepee and told stories of old.  Thanks Chief Tom!!
